Meet Tess!
Thora began with a familiar feeling: being tired of the diet culture rollercoaster.
Our founder, Tess, was right there, too. She was tired of obsessing over every bite, of feeling guilty about food, and of the constant pressure to change her body. She believed there had to be a better, kinder way for women to live.
So, she created Thora. Her vision was simple: to build the supportive guide she wished she'd had. A place to help women step away from harmful diet rules and learn to trust their bodies again.
Thora combines clear, compassionate education with practical tools, like EFT Tapping, to help you understand your relationship with food on a deeper level. It’s not another diet. It’s a path to rediscovering your balance, helping you find a lasting sense of peace and confidence.

From Frustration to Food Freedom
Thora was born out of a shared frustration with diet culture and a deep desire to help women find a better way. As a Spanish-American woman navigating the pressures of New York City, Tess experienced firsthand the exhausting cycle of dieting, body shame, and food obsession. She knew there had to be a more fulfilling way to live.
Across the ocean in Spain, her brother Jacobo, a tech-savvy entrepreneur, witnessed Tess's struggles and wanted to help. Together, they decided to create a solution. They envisioned an app that would empower women to break free from diet culture's grip and cultivate a truly healthy relationship with food and their bodies.
Combining Tess's personal experience and understanding of the problem with Jaco's expertise in technology and production, they poured their hearts and souls into building Thora. They meticulously researched the science behind intuitive eating, emotional regulation, and habit change, and they carefully crafted a program that would guide women step-by-step towards food freedom and body confidence.
Thora is more than just an app; it's a culmination of personal experience, scientific research, and a passionate belief that every woman deserves to feel at peace with food and her body. It's a testament to the power of sibling collaboration and a shared vision for a world where women are free to thrive, without being held back by diet culture's unrealistic expectations.
